"CORE" WELLNESS CAMPUS

Below is a semester long project Hayley completed in a Collaboration Studio during the Fall of her senior year. Hayley collaborated with two other interior design students to create a "wellness campus" with three separate buildings: an outpatient clinic, an addiction and recovery center and a nutrition and wellness center.
The concept for her project was “CORE.” The concept grew from the idea that healing and wellness do not only develop on the exterior “shell,” but from the deeper feelings on the inside as well. The unique shape was created within the overall site that allowed for a community healing garden to be centrally located in the core of the campus. Each building led directly to the healing garden to promote wellness and growth amongst all users of the three buildings as they came together as a whole. The buildings are primarily constructed out of glass curtain walls, to allow for a constant connection to the outdoors. This connection to nature is proven to have positive impacts on human health. The entire campus features bariatric furniture and design solutions to ensure that everyone can utilize the purpose of each building universally. Throughout the three buildings, users will find cafes, juice bars, a public pharmacy, fitness and yoga studios, a gym, and various lounge areas that can be shared amongst all visitors of the area.
